Climb Teufelsberg
In pancake-flat Berlin, this 80m high mound built from second world war rubble (115m above sea level) counts as a mountain. The old radar station at the top that the West once used to spy on the Soviets has been mercilessly vandalised, but that might change since it was purchased by David Lynch, who plans to open a meditation centre there. The pilgrimage to the top to catch the view has become a Berlin rite-of-passage.
