The asbestos has been removed and this once-hulking icon of socialist architectural bombast has nearly come down to sea level, but you can still see the shrinking skeleton of this once proud Parliament hall, auditorium, shopping complex and bowling alley. Wait a little bit, and it should be an open-air park. The government is still trying to secure funding so it can erect a new Berlin Stadtschloss in its place. For that, you might be waiting a mighty long time.
