Calendar

Days and months on the UAE calendar are the same as anywhere else, however, over a year you'll find a number of events or holidays that are specific to the Islamic religion. These are highly important to the country and should be treated with respect. However, you will also find key events (such as Christmas) from other religions are also celebrated by many restaurants, malls and other venues throughout the year.

Additionally you'll find the year crammed with events happening in the city, from business exhibits and family shows at the DWTC exhibition centre to world class sports competitions and unique festivals. Most activities tend to happen in the cooler months from around September to May, yet there's an increasing number of air-conditioned indoor events taking place in the hot summer months.
