There are many DVD rental shops in Amsterdam. The best are Video Land, Movie Centre and Super Video. Some still stock videos, but most have already phased them out. To become a member, you will need to provide proof of identification, proof of address and a bank statement or another official letter. You'll pay around €4 for a DVD for the first night. Some stores charge less for extra nights, but others will charge the full fee for every night you're late.

There are also a number of online DVD rental services where you pay a fixed rate per month and receive a pre-set number of films. You can also opt for a package for slightly more money, around €20 a month and be entitled to an unlimited number of films.
