Amending A Resident Identity Card
The Emirates Identity Authority divides its information into ‘key’ and ‘non-key’ data. To amend key data (name, nationality or date of birth), you must visit one of the authority’s registration centres, and present your ID and supporting documents.
For non-key data (e.g. address or occupation), you can just make the change at the centre’s electronic service kiosks. Visit id.gov.ae/en to find one near you.
Prerequisites
- Existing Resident ID
- Valid Resident ID
- Documents proving key data change
Procedure
- Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) centre.
- Visit the EIDA and show your documents as proof of the change.
- You will be notified by SMS when your new card is ready.
