Horse Riding

There are a number of excellent stables and equestrian clubs in Dubai. While keeping your own horse can be very expensive, you may find that riding lessons cost less here than in your home country. Though there may be a waiting lists for lessons. There are a few places, such as The Desert Palm Riding School, where you can take your kids for a 10 minute horse ride around the track. You can also visit Al Tamimi Stables where there's a pony club with private riding lessons for kids. If you are a dressage rider and would like to get involved in shows in the UAE contact stables such as Godolphin, the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, or Al Zobair Stud Farm in Sharjah.

If you're more keen on watching the races rather than hopping on a stallion yourself, horse racing in Dubai is extremely popular. Most races, including the Dubai World Cup – the richest horse race in the world – take place at the Meydan racetrack.
