Applying For A Residence Visa - Child
Male children can be sponsored by their parent up to the age of 18, and thereafter to the age of 21 only if they are enroled in a full time university or college degree. A female child can be sponsored by her parent as long as she remains unmarried. This process is the same as a family residence visa, but steps can vary between a child and spouse.
Prerequisites
- Parent has a UAE residence visa.
- Parent has a minimum monthly salary of Dhs.4,000 or Dhs.3,000 with accommodation allowance.
What to bring
- Two passport-sized photos of the child.
- Passports of the sponsor and the child (originals and copies).
- Sponsor’s employment contract, attested.
- Sponsor’s salary certificate, attested.
- Sponsor’s residence visa (original and copy).
- Tenancy contract in the sponsor’s name or company, if provided by employer.
- Proof of health insurance for the child.
- Attested birth certificate.
Procedure
- General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA).
- If your child is over 15 years old, take him/her for a medical test.
- Submit your application at the Family Entry Permit counter at the GDRFA along with supporting documents.
- Family member’s passport with residence visa stamp can be collected within three to five days, or you can pay Dhs.15 to have it couriered to you.
NOTE: Child sponsorship is valid for one year and fees are Dhs.100
