Wedding is a traditional workers’ district of large apartment blocks that, unlike Prenzlauer Berg and Friedrichshain, has clung proudly to its working-class identity. The atmosphere is multicultural, industrial and old-school Berliner. Workers, immigrant families, students and pensioners live in Wedding, as do an increasing number of artists.
