If you’re considering moving to Dubai and/or looking to rent somewhere, this chapter will guide you through everything from finding a suitable property to signing the lease. Paying for rental accommodation in Dubai may be very different to what you’re used to. Most landlords demand one cheque for a year’s rent in advance, and if you manage to negotiate two or three cheques expect to pay a slightly higher rent.

Rental contracts are typically one year, after which the rent can be increased by the landlord under new laws introduced at the end of 2013.
