The Ceremony

If you're planning a Christian wedding, note that the marriage must be conducted either at your embassy or, more likely, in a church. You do, however, have a lot more options when it comes to having a wedding blessing and reception – you can choose a luxury hotel, a beach or even a yacht. Most weddings take place at Dubai’s Holy Trinity Church, Christ Church in Jabal Ali, St Andrew’s Church in Abu Dhabi or St Martin’s Church in Sharjah. Catholic weddings take place at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Dubai.
Hindu marriages are conducted by the maharaj at Dubai’s Hindu Temple in Bur Dubai, which is run in conjunction with the Indian consulate who solemnise the marriage. Both parties must be Hindi
and at least one of the couple should be an Indian citizen with a Dubai residence visa; there should also be three witnesses who have a UAE residence visa.

A marriage between two Muslims can be conducted at the Dubai Courts, as can a marriage between a Muslim man and a non-Muslim woman. However, a non-Muslim man cannot marry a Muslim woman; he must first convert to Islam. Different nationalities may have specific requirements, so contact your local embassy.

People of other religions (Buddhist, Sikh or Bahai) may be able to get married at their embassies or consulates.
