Like all big cities, Los Angeles has its share of crime. Although rates have fallen over the last decade, LA still struggles with gang-related violent crimes. This should not be ignored, but the truth is that gang activity is often concentrated in specific neighbourhoods and does not affect outsiders. Still, don’t take your safety for granted. Always act like you know where you are and where you’re going. Be aware of your surroundings. Don’t walk down empty streets by yourself at night. Make sure you lock your car every time you leave it.
