Central Tokyo isn’t the only place where you can find a great place to live. There are also some interesting and often quieter areas to the west of Shinjuku that still have excellent access to the heart of the city. It is possible to commute into the city from Chiba, Kanagawa, Saitama and Yokohama prefectures and Kawasaki city. It may mean a longer commute, but housing is likely to be a lot cheaper, and can open up options for larger houses in quieter areas rather than just apartments.
