Nakano-ku
Only a stone’s throw from Shinjuku is Nakano-ku, the bridge from the urban clamour of central Tokyo to the quieter suburban regions in the western part of the metropolitan area. Ranging from the busy shopping hub around Nakano station to the quieter streets of Nakano-Sakaue, Nakano-Shinbashi and Ochiai, if you want to be close to the city centre, but not to pay the high prices, then Nakano-ku is a good option. It’s becoming more popular with those who work in Shinjuku and want to live close to work and the area is serviced by the JR Chūō and Sobu lines and the Tozai, Marunouchi and Ōedo metro lines.
