Transport
Nakano-ku is serviced by the JR Chûô and Chûô-Sobu lines, as well as the Seibu-Shinjuku line in its northern reaches. The Marunouchi, Tozai and Odeo metro lines also pass through the area on the way to Shinjuku. The Chûô line and Marunouchi lines tend to be the most crowded, especially during the rush hours, and Nakano-Sakaue station can be particularly busy late at night, bringing back and transferring party-goers and office workers from Roppongi and Shinjuku on the Ôedo and Marunouchi lines. The local bus service is a great way to get to places in Shibuya-ku and Setagaya-ku, and services run from most major stations with stops on Yamate Dôri and Okubo Dôri. These are both major thoroughfares and carry heavy traffic, and around the Nakano and Nakano-Sakaue station areas there is often congestion. There is no street parking and the streets are often very narrow.
