Transport

Shibuya-ku is one of the most eclectic areas in terms of transport. It's easily accessible from the JR Yamanote and Saikyo train lines, as well as the Ginza, Chiyoda, Hanzomon and Hibiya metro lines. In addition, the Tokyu Denentoshi and Tokyu Toyoko lines run from Shibuya and Ebisu stations, heading towards Meguro-ku, Setagaya-ku and Yokohama. The Keio and Odakyu lines also pass through Shibuya on the way from Shinjuku to Setagaya-ku. Bus services are reliable, running through to Meguro-ku, Minato-ku, Setagaya-ku and Western Tokyo areas like Nakano-ku and Suginami-ku.

By car, depending on the area, you shouldn’t get many traffic problems. The zones just around Shibuya and Ebisu stations are usually fairly congested, but places like Daikanyama, Hiro and Yoyogi-Uehara are less busy.
