Sants-Montjuïc

Despite being Barcelona’s largest neighbourhood in terms of space, only a quarter of Sants-Montjuïc is actually residential, with the rest divided between the port, the neighbouring industrial area, and the ‘mountain’ of Montjuïc.

The latter is a great bonus for local residents. Museums, sports facilities and expansive grounds with spectacular views of the city are ideal for walking, picnicking and pondering. Plaça Espanya, between Sants and Montjuïc, is an important junction both for the neighbourhood and the city, as well as a nightmare to drive around. The inhabited areas can be a little bit cramped, a reflection of its working-class past when factories and their workers were based in Sants and the neighbouring zone of Poble Sec.
