Gas

The Beijing Gas Company handles liquid natural gas, but supply issues are dealt with by a landlord or property management company. Some apartments will use propane canisters for the hot water heating and the stove, others will use prepaid cards. Some have centralised meters, which are then tallied into the overall utility bill to be paid to the property manager. Gas is likely to be your least expensive utility, ranging from ¥20 to ¥75 per month for apartment dwellers that don’t cook much, up to ¥50 to ¥100 for culinary wizards.
