Luggage & Leather

Whether you’re heading to a five-star retreat or trekking somewhere exotic, Berlin has your luggage needs covered.

Lovers of luxury are well catered for – try Luis Vuitton (030 882 5272) for vintage-style hard-case suitcases (at €4,000 a pop) or along the Ku’Damm where Hermès or Aigner saddlebags are at your fingertips. However, if quality comes before price Offerman is an address worth seeking out. It has been making leather suitcases since 1925 and although it trades largely in handbags, wallets and briefcases, it still makes chic overnight and carry-on luggage for sophisticated business travellers. At the other end of the scale, the popular Jack Wolfskin daypacks and backpacks are ideal if you’re roughing it.

Mid-range items are available at Kofferhaus Witt, which carries durable aluminium hard-case luggage from Rimowa and Samsonite. Mandarina Duck dominates the mid-priced range with its bright, functional trolleys, bags and wallets. As well as its standalone store in Potsdamer Platz, Mandarina Duck has a large selection at Galeries Lafayette and KaDeWe.
