Registering A Sim Card

All mobile phone users (both visitors and residents) are required to re-register their mobile numbers by providing their service provider with up-to-date ID details; this came into effect in 2012 when the UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority launched the My Number, My Identity campaign.

This is to ensure that your personal profile and details are up-to-date, and that the operator has all valid ID information, thus preventing identity theft and misuse.

Re-registering your mobile number is mandatory and failure to

do so will result in disconnection of those mobile numbers. You
will be notified by SMS or by automatic call if and when you need to re-register your number. You will be required to re-register your SIM card every time your residence visa or Resident ID expires.
