Renewing A Residence Visa - Employment
After two or three years, your residence visa will expire and have to be renewed. You will also have to renew it if you are outside of Dubai for six months or more, which will render it void. Either way, you will need to take another medical test and apply for a new Resident ID before renewing your visa.
Prerequisites
- UAE resident
- Medical completed (and passed)
- Resident ID renewal underway
What to bring
- Passport with visa page (original).
- Medical test certificate.
- Application form for renewal of residence (from typing centre).
- Two passport-sized photos.
- Resident ID application form certified by the Registration Centre at the Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA).
- Dhs.310 fee (plus typing fee).
In addition to the above required documents, the following are required for visa renewal if you are a private sector employee:
- Valid establishment card (copy).
- Valid trade/commercial licence (copy).
- Labour card or receipt for labour card renewal (copy).
Procedure
- General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA).
- Your company’s PRO (public relations officer) should handle all the paperwork, meaning you won’t have to visit the GDRFA yourself to renew your employer-sponsored residence visa.
