Chains such as Zara, H&M, Mango, Vero Moda and Esprit (all of which you’ll find on Tauentzienstrasse) are safe bets for wardrobe essentials, such as a well-cut pair of black trousers or a blouse for work. More exciting are the boutiques scattered around Berlin’s funkiest neighbourhoods, particularly Prenzlauer Berg, Mitte and Friedrichshain, where you’ll find everything from avant-garde streetwear and kitsch accessories to drop dead gorgeous frocks.
