Domestic Worker Visa

A domestic worker residence visa allows a maid or nanny to legally live and work in the UAE, and is valid for one year. To sponsor a domestic worker visa, you must have a salary above Dhs.6,000 per month and be able to provide the maid with monthly salary, housing, food, medical insurance and an airfare back to their home country at least once every two years.

Residence Visa
The procedure is similar to sponsoring a family member, but slightly more costly at around Dhs.7,000. You'll also be asked to sign a contract stating the domestic worker's salary. The visa allows a maid or nanny to legally live and work in Dubai, and is valid for one year.

You'll need to arrange for a visit visa so that she can enter the country (unless she is already here on a visit visa or existing residence visa). Then, you need to apply for the residence visa – within 30 days of the maid’s arrival. She must be a national of Bangladesh, India, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Philippines or Sri Lanka, be under 58 years, and must have passed the medical test and applied for a Resident ID card.
