Accommodation
If you get a flat in the left or right Eixample, and parts of the Sagrada Familia, it may have original features like tiled floors, glass doors and cornices. In the left Eixample is the Model Prison, whose presence can result in cheaper housing prices, the pay-off being a view of the barbed wired wall.
Prices vary, but are usually higher in the right Eixample, which is considered a little grander (the average price for a two-bedroom flat is €700,000). Anywhere near one of the big streets such as Gran Via or Passeig de Gràcia will have raised its price accordingly. Sant Antoni tends to be the cheapest part, with the average price of a two-bedroom flat being €330,000.
Another issue is the current construction of the high speed train line under the centre of the Eixample, making residents nervous about the stability of their apartment buildings.
