Contraception & Sexual Health
The Irish Family Planning Association offers contraception and family planning services, counselling in the event of an unwanted pregnancy, and training for doctors and nurses. Their two medical centres offer well-woman checks, pap smears, treatment for menopause, contraception (including the emergency or ‘morning after’ pill), testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, and vasectomy. The medical centres are in Dublin 1 (Cathal Brugha Street, 01 872 7088) and in Tallaght (The Square, 01 459 7685). IFPA also operates a national pregnancy helpline (1850 495 051). Get more information on your contraceptive requirements and other reproductive issues on the IFPA website (www.ifpa.ie), or call 01 806 9444.
