Donor Cards

Donor cards are widely available in Ireland, and can be obtained from your local pharmacy, as well as from some universities and workplaces. Like many countries, Irish driving licences have a box to tick if you wish to become a donor. However, it is important to inform your next-of-kin of your feelings regarding organ donation, as they will be approached for consent even if you are carrying a signed card at the time of death. Organ donations are administered by the National Organ Procurement Service, based in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin 9 (01 809 2759).
