Basic dentistry is widely available in Beijing and is clean, safe and inexpensive. General services include x-rays, fillings, cleanings and extractions. Typical costs range from ¥200 to ¥500, and some clinics may charge a registration fee. Almost all hospitals, both private and public, offer dental services.

Many newer clinics also offer teeth whitening, orthodontics and oral surgery, though major dental surgery takes place at a hospital.
