Paediatrics

There is no shortage of paediatricians in Beijing. Several hospitals are focused primarily on children’s medicine, and many offer some English-speaking doctors and western amenities. To narrow the options, ask for a recommendation from a friend or colleague, or a referral from your insurance provider. Family health plans should cover regular hospital visits and check-ups for your child.

The Chinese vaccination schedule includes tuberculosis and hepatitis at birth, a polio shot at two months, DPT at three months, and MMR or measles at eight months. Also consider having your child immunised against meningitis at six months as well as Japanese encephalitis and chicken pox.
