Running

Barcelona is full of idyllic places to go for a jog. First and foremost, there are the main parks : Ciutadella, Montjuïc and Parc Güell. The latter is the most challenging to run, due to the steep uphill slog, but the view from the top is an exhilarating reward. The many jogging tracks in Montjuïc are pleasant, and you can enjoy clean air and magnificent views. The beachfront promenade is a hot spot for tanned, toned and lithe individuals running to the pace of their iPods. From Barceloneta to Bogatell, there is a long enough stretch to test your endurance. The Club Natació Montjuic (www.cnmontjuic.com) has a running circuit through the grounds of Montjuic, with stunning views. The best place to find information on athletics training and running tracks is through the governing body of the sport: Catalan Athletics Federation (www.atletisme.com/fca).
