Cricket
Most cricket enthusiasts in Berlin are expat Brits, Indians or Pakistanis who play on both an informal and formal basis. The Deutschen Cricket Bund, or German Cricket Organisation (www.cricket.de) organises the sport nationwide, controls the league in Berlin and is an affiliate of the European Cricket Council (ECC). There are teams for men, women and youths, and its website explains the sometimes confusing rules of the game. The most expat-friendly team is the Berlin Cricket Club (www.berlincc.de). Founded in 1985, the civilian group was allowed into the league, then run by the British Army three years later. The club plays matches most summer weekends, and invites those interested in joining to attend a Tuesday training session.
