Even beginners who don’t object to a sore behind the next day will enjoy this winter activity. There are lots of ice skating rinks around Berlin; many are permanent and some appear just for the Christmas season. You can rent ice skates at all of these rinks, but expect to pay for them on top of the entrance fee. Some Berliners also go ice skating on the small lakes surrounding the city that freeze over in winter.
