There are plenty of places to take music lessons or learn to sing at a professional level in Berlin. Private lessons cost anywhere between €25 and €150 per hour. There is a number of more casual groups or choirs. Most choirs rehearse in German, but non-German speakers with basic knowledge of key words should get along fine. Once a year, the Rundfunkchor Berlin, the oldest radio choir in Germany and one of the best, hosts an amateur full-day rehearsal and sing-along culminating in a performance by hundreds of people (www.rundfunkchor-berlin.de).
