There are innumerable social societies in Berlin, grouped around interests as diverse as parenting and historical walks (see below). Many of the English-language bookstores, especially St Georges in Prenzlauer Berg and Another Country in Kreuzberg, serve as informal meeting places for English speakers, with their lectures and film nights creating a society of sorts. More organised groups focused on specific interest areas are listed below.
